Replacement Building 4601-Office Building Huntsville, Alabama

PWM performed civil engineering and surveying for new office building project for NASA. PWM was responsible for a study to determine campus layout of Buildings 4601, 4602, and 4603. 4603 being an alternate to this project and 4602 a future project. Our scope performed included site layout, grading, drainage, parking, utilities and LEED Silver certification. Worked in coordination with Hellmuth, Obata + Kassabaum, Inc. in developing the design of the project and coordinated with their architectural and landscape planning staff. Complex elements of the project included the design of all site utilities, water distribution (domestic and fire protection), sanitary sewer, duct banks for underground electric and communications, hydronic piping for steam and chilled water from central plant supply points. The project had environmental and significant zoning restrictions that required incorporating in the LEED silver design.
